Melissa virus known as "Mailissa", "Simpsons", Kwyjibo", "kwejeebo", is a mass-mailing macro virus. Melissa virus was created March 26, 1999 in New Jersey. The creator of this virus was David L. Smith, he is responsible for this virus. And the responsible and distributing  this kind of virus is David L. Smith. Smith used Visual Basic Application programming language , the effects this virus are the file will be corrupted and in some cases virus can deleted or erase all the files you saved. And in my research i found that there are big companies are affected in this kind of virus, especially Intel and Microsoft word 97, excel and outlook. Smith  is sentenced 20 months and found guilty. Damage costs is $ 80,000,000 million dollars.Since, Melissa virus was created 2 years ago, there are other virus, from Love letter to Code Red and Sir cam more of these was David L. Smith creations. In sentencing Smith is currently scheduled last September 10, 2001 by Kevin Poulsen. The person who gives the information to the FBI was Richard Smith, that David L. Smith was the one who is responsible for the spreading of Melissa virus. There are also large companies is affected to this Melissa virus. Melissa is a type of Word macro virus created by "kwyjibo" it was discovered on March 26, 1999 and the original place was in Aberdeen, New Jersey USA, the source language used was Visual Basic, platform is MS word on MS Windows. And it collects also 50 entries from the alias list or address book and sends to the e-mail address that enter. The Melissa Virus was named by David L. Smith, for a Miami Stripper. Melissa Virus was discovered on Friday evening in Europe, early morning in the U.S. In this reason, virus spread in the USA during Friday.
